Nancy Reagan was an actress, former First Lady of the United States, and widow of Ronald Reagan. She was born Anne Frances Robbins on July 6, 1921, in New York City. Her father ‘Kenneth’ was a salesman and her mother ‘Edith’ was an actress. Nancy’s parents divorced when she was 6 years old. She attended the Girls’ Latin School of Chicago Followed by Smith College in Massachusetts. She graduated in 1943 with a BA degree in drama. She worked briefly as a sales clerk and later as a nurse’s aide.

CAREER
Nancy made her theatre debut in the 1945 production of ‘Ramshackle Inn’. She was later cast as “Si-Tchun” in the 1946 musical, Lute Song. She moved to California and was signed to MGM Studios in 1949. There she started out doing small supporting roles in films like The Doctor and the Girl, and East Side, West Side. Nancy starred as the character “Katherine Mead” in the 1951 film, Night Into Morning. Other notable films include Donovan’s Brain, Hellcats of the Navy, and Crash Landing.

Nancy and Ronald Reagan began dating in 1949. The two got married in 1952 and welcomed their first child, Patti, on October 21, 1952. The couple represented the Republican party. Nancy Reagan served as California’s First Lady from 1967-1975. She served as First Lady of the United States from 1981-1989. Nancy’s drug abuse awareness helped establish the ‘National Crusade for a Drug Free America Act’ in 1986.

Nancy Reagan passed away on March 6, 2016, at the age of 94. Her reported cause of death was congestive heart failure. Nancy was 5ft 4in tall and had a net worth of $25 million.
